J.A Craig

JA was born in Canberra, Australia, in 1973 to Bob and Carolyn.  Her father, Bob, was a Computer Sales Business Development Manager and her mother a Piano Teacher. The family relocated to Sydney in 1978, settling in the Hills District, where JA has lived most of her life.  The youngest of three siblings, JA has immersed herself in the creative arts since the age of four, studying dance, drama, and piano.

Always the performer at home and amongst friends, it was anticipated that JA would move into the entertainment industry upon completion of school.  Instead, she surprised expectations by pursuing a career in marketing, eventually moving to work in strategic management and initiatives.  Her academic journey led her to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University.

JA’s passion for literature, cinema, ballet, and the theatre has been a lifelong affair. However, she set aside her childhood love for writing when she completed school and entered the workforce.  Married to Jamie and a mother of two beautiful daughters, Natalie and Caitlin,  JA prioritised her family and her career, and JA's writing took a backseat.

While JA’s professional writing primarily includes technical content, major reports and campaigns, her desire to write purely for joy persisted.  In 2017, JA began a personal writing project that started as a casual exercise.  The gradually evolved into a serious endeavour to craft a novel.  To hone her skills, JA enrolled in a writing course to refine the narrative and strengthen her manuscript.

Now, after seven years of unwavering dedication, JA is on the cusp of a significant milestone in her creative journey. She is actively seeking publication of her debut novel, a work that encapsulates her passion, perseverance, and growth as a writer.
